Schreiber Playing Creed in WOLVERINE?

By: Jarrod Sarafin, News Editor

It seems that previous reports pegging Liev Schreiber as a young William Stryker in X-Men Origins:Wolverine could end up being wrong. Fellow geeks over at CHUD now report that Schreiber is in fact centering on the Victor Creed role while Michael C. Hall ("Dexter") is instead in the running for the role of Stryker. The report also says that Michelle Monaghan is up for the Silverfox role.

Plot Concept: "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

X-Men Origins:Wolverine will hit theaters May 1, 2009.

Sweet, you put this up Jedi.

No one saw Jackman as Wolverine and that worked well. Hope the same goes for Schreiber.

This could work. I wouldn't have thunk it but, who knows, Liv is a pretty capable actor and he has the size comparison to Jackman to where it could look menacing enough. I mean Creed was way taller than Wolverine in the comics and it could work in that way with Liv and Hugh. We'll see if it's even true.

Liv is a great actor. My only pet peeve would be that he's not tall enough considering Jackman is already too tall for the role and you would like to see Creed tower over Logan. Then again if he pulls off the role convincingly enough I could forgive everything else.

You're right, WG. Liev (6' 3"), is only a half inch taller than Hugh (6' 2 1/2 "). For some reason I thought Hugh was way shorter than that, though, not as short as Wolverine in the comics. Yeah, but height shouldn't be a factor if the movie and acting is up to par.

Wow. Talk about out of left field! Apparently Sabertooth needs to do something other than snarl in this one.
Interesting choice. Schreiber's got the acting chops to pull this off.

What happened to Gerard Butler....
P.S. I LOVE DEXTER, that show kicks serious ass.

Yah, WTF happened to Gerard Butler? he would have been perfect for Sabertooth. And I have no idea what this guy Liev Schreiber has done, but I will take you word that he is a good actor. I just hope that this is wrong and Butler is still in for Creed. :( This guy Schreiber would make a better young William Stryker.

The only way he can pull this off is with huge amounts of Test E and HGH.

No, I just can't picture him in the role. I have to agree that he'd be better as Stryker.

Height really doesn't matter in this day and age of filmmaking. Just look at The Lord of the Rings films. I still can't believe they made John-Rhys Davies that damn small!

Back to the topic though, I agree. I never would have pegged Liev as Creed, but if he hits the gym hard enough, takes a good amount of Creatine (or HGH) and it could work.
