There has been a lot of Terminator news floating around over the weekend. We do know that production is slated to begin in April and Arnold Schwarzenegger is back. Since Arnie is back, he is open to discussing his return to the beloved franchise. At the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus (via Arnold Fans) he spoke about the new film.

"We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I'm really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn't be in that movie but now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film... The script is fantastic so I'm really looking forward to this film."

The film will feature Emilia Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney and be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World)

The next Terminator film, Terminator: Genesis, is slated for July 1st, 2015.

Arnold Schwarzenegger messed up as governor of California. he should've stayed in film business. I  consider him for Stick in Daredevil films.

I see a Terminator being sent back, but an accident occurs and he ends up too far in the past. Without access to modern information technology he goes into survival mode and bides his time. History passes, and due to interactions with key people throughout the early 20th Century, and his advanced knowledge he unwittingly aids in the development of the technologies that usher in the modern age.

It's the 21st Century, an older Terminator, his flesh parts aged, several mechanical parts wearing out, and long since overwritten and moved beyond his original programming is putting the finishing touches on his own designs for control of the Earth and will not allow Skynet to be born.

Just an interesting idea what this movie should be, but probably won't.

Violater - I can never read something of Ahnuld's without hearng his voice/accent! :-)

Muenster - I like your take, I said something similar in a post regarding the Kyle Reese casting. Specifically about the Terminator aging. whatever reason, deactivated in a destroyed base, lost in time, or your scenario. Although, Ahnuld does have his ego, there is the possibility they do with him what was done to Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan in the one X-man movie where they were digitally "de-aged."

Again this is a REBOOT, do we really need Arnie?

But then again I also want it to go back to it's more modest hard R roots...

Make the Terminator scary again!

Meh...why are we supposed to be excited about this?  LOVED the first three Terminators, thought the 4th was okay, not at all enticed in any way, shape, or form for a reboot...

I mean, I'm excited about the movie (always ready for another Terminator), but he didn't really say much.  Nothing too exciting here.

Muenster - that idea was awesome! :)

I guess they can try the new de-aging tech to make Arnold look good enough for it.  Freaked me out when he popped up in end of last one.  Looked photo real enough and they messed up it's looks pretty fast in the battle to save money I am sure. De-aging tech did not look quite right for Tron 2 however.  I but that's the next best thing having images of stars young in upcoming movies.  Lucas predicted it right, one of his better decisions.
