Teutonic thesp Til Schweiger has been tapped to play comicbook cowboy Lucky Luke in French comedy-Western "The Daltons."

Philippe Haim's $25 million pic is based on the comics of Belgian and French comic scribes Morris (also known as Maurice De Bevere) and Rene Goscinny (better known for the "Asterix" cartoon books), who use real-life and fictional Wild West characters like Calamity Jane and Billy the Kid in their stories of do-gooder Lucky Luke.
