It will incorporate footage from the original SCI FI miniseries and the previous two seasons of the series. The special will be narrated from the point of view of Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), the resistance leader on Cylon-occupied New Caprica.

According to Sci Fi Wire, the special will be broadcast as follows: Aug. 13 at 10 p.m. on NBC West Coast, Aug. 28 Free On Demand via SCI FI's cable affiliates, Sept. 15 at 12 a.m. on USA Network, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. on Universal HD, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. on USA, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on Universal HD, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. on Sleuth, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. on Bravo, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. on Bravo, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. on Universal HD, throughout the month of September on SCI FI Pulse and Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. on SCI FI.

Throughout September, it will also be made available for download via iTunes and XBox Live and will be distributed at Best Buy as a bonus DVD with the Battlestar Galactica season 2.5 DVD set and other genre titles from Universal Home Video. The DVD will also be distributed to visitors to the Universal Studios theme parks, and snippets of the special will be available on YouTube.com, Google Video and other video portal sites.

This is a great idea, and I like that they're making it available so many different ways. I'm sure spider will see this as some last ditch effort to save a sinking show. I see it as a great way to get people juiced for future episodes and to pull new viewers in (and increase DVD sales). I'll watch it, because I haven't watched as faithfully as others and I know i missed things.

This should be interesting and I agree it's a smart move to get to those that don't make to SciFi channel often. I didn't know Laura Roslin was the resistance leader though. I guess in WAS my 100% spoiler free mindset I thought it would be Tye. Anyway, can't wait!!

Yeah, but you know Spider is lurking somewhere. His Original BSG Starbuck alarm clock has not gone off yet.

*waiting for the spiderr to crawl out of the woodwork* I, for one, would love to watch this, but I'm so far behind that a one-hour recap won't do any good -- unfortunately, I've not watched since the mini-series, and so don't expect a one-hour special (which, with commercials, breaks down to 44 minutes) to really help that much.

I wonder where Renderman72 is? Is he going to wait until we start getting news of the next Superman movie to post again?

Spiddrr987 is still sleeping off a night of drunken revelry (and slash role-play) at the International Dirk Benedict Worshippers Convention. As soon as he gets up and climbs out of his Commander Adama Under-roos, he'll be all over this.

Doesn't Spiderr have a pager, a secret watch or maybe a BSG searchlight that goes off? This is like when the town-crazy guy you always know will be by the bridge downtown dissapears, and you get legitimatly worried they might be hurt or dead somewhere. Maybe we should call somebody...
