SCI FI syndicates

VARIETY surveys the emerging practice of syndicating first-run basic cable to local broadcast markets, with special attention to SCI FI Channel star performer CROSSING OVER WITH JOHN EDWARD.

The supernatural reality show drew unexpectedly high numbers at birth in 2000 and was nearly immediately earmarked for local-market syndication. Subsequently, SCI FI became the secondary run market, responding to demand in the syndie market for the program.
