Sci Fi Channel and Virgin Comics have greenlit the first project under their new joint venture, tapping Mike Carey ("X-Men," "Ultimate Fantastic Four") to pen an adventure fantasy series dubbed "The Stranded."Project is set to be unveiled Thursday at the opening of Comic-Con. Announcement comes six months after the unveiling of Sci Fi/Virgin Comics initiative at the Gotham edition of Comic-Con (Daily Variety, Feb. 6).
