SCOOP: Is this the new Robot look for LOST IN SPACE?

We received a tip from a scooper telling us to check out the Uncle Odie's Irwin Allen Collectibles website, specifically the news update posted on February 15. What we were told was there was a proposed design for the new Robot in The WB's upcoming LOST IN SPACE pilot.
We did indeed find the design artwork (as shown above) along with an explanation as to what it is. Webmaster Robert Vanderpool explains that the design in question was submitted to Fox to be considered as the new LIS Robot, and that his website is conducting a poll to determine whether people like the radical new design or the more traditional classic Robot look. "We would like to get our comments and input back to Producer Kevin Burns on this matter," explains Vanderpool in his update. "We the fans like our classic B-9 and not the updated modern toy version."
If this really is an active design being considered, then the question becomes: how did this website get their hands on it? And why does the website refer to the photo as being considered by Fox when the new LOST IN SPACE pilot is at The WB Network?
