Scorsese Helming ALEXANDER

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are moving to reunite on another film, this time telling the story of ALEXANDER THE GREAT.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the two principals will work with Initial Entertainment Group, with who they worked on the coming GANGS OF NEW YORK.
IEG acquired the spec script written by Peter Buchman (JURASSIC PARK III) and Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) with plans to heavily finance the epic production. The film will chroncile the story of Alexander the Great, who while very young managed to conquer most of the civilized world. In the film, we will see Alexander when he is crowned King of Macedonia on through his conquering campaigns culminating in his downfall.
Graham King and Kenneth Kokin will produce the film with Buchman and McQuarrie. The production, as yet, has no production start date.
Meanwhile, producer Dino de Laurentiis is also developing his own film on the same subject.
