Director Ridley Scott and actor Casey Affleck are coming together for a new period noir mobster film titled The Kind One, reports Variety. Casey Affleck is attached to star in the film, which is based on a novel by Tom Epperson, who will write the screenplay. Scott and Jules Daly are producing for Scott Free; Ideaology's Sean Bailey (Gone Baby Gone) is also producing.

Plot Concept: The story, set in 1930s Los Angeles, centers on an amnesiac who finds himself working for a mobster -- a killer given the nickname "the Kind One" -- and falling in love with the thug's girlfriend.

I like Casey Affleck and Ridley Scott is just an amazing director, but this slightly reminds me of Last Man Standing and some other story that I can`t put my finger on. I love movies like this, so count me in.

I like Casey Affleck... he is coming on his own really well... and here I thought he would just be Bens brother....

Its about time he came into his own,,,,he has been doing bit parts forever. It is good to see him getting bigger roles,,,,oh, and on a side note, I finally got around to watching the "I'm fucking Matt Damon" video, and the retort video "I'm fucking Ben Affleck", and I think Matt Damn is the man for doing his, but I have a whole new respect for Ben Affleck and Jimmy Kimmel after that viedo.....has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Definitely, one of the funniest videos I`ve seen in a long time.

Casey is perfect for this kind of movie, the way he speaks already sounds like it belongs in that era to me.

Agreed, Whiskeymovie. Those videos are frickin' hilarious! But about this movie, how often do people *really* get amnesia? I've bumped my head probably over a hundred or two hundred times in my life and never had a moment's memory loss. In the movies, it seems like if someone brushes their hair too hard, they forget their middle name. It's kind of getting old. But I like Ridley Scott & Casey Affleck, so I guess I'll have to wait & see how this develops.
