Scott Not Helming ALEXANDER, Yet

A recent rumor has been making the online rounds suggesting that director Risley Scott had signed on to direct ALEXANDER THE GREAT. There's just one problem... he hasn't.
While talking to Variety, a rep for the helmer shot donw the rumor, saying, "I suspect they have had some discussion about it, but Ridley has only just finished shooting BLACK HAWK DOWN. There are several possibilities in development, but he is not committed to anything next."
The trade reports that the rumor began when producer de Laurentiis was talking to the press at the Giffoni Film Festival in southern Italy. At that time, Dino is said to have revealed that he would like to reteam with the GLADIATOR director for ALEXANDER.
