The trades are reporting today that Ridley Scott's next film will be a project titled KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, and that PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN co-star Orlando Bloom is looking likely to be the movie's leading man.
KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is set in the 12th century and the start of the Crusades. Bloom would play a blacksmith who through a twist of events becomes a knight in order to defend Jerusalem from the approaching armies. He would also find romance with a princess.
Scott is reportedly gung hon on filming KINGDOM OF HEAVEN shortly after the new year begins. Reportedly key members of the crew are leaving next week to scout locations in Morocco and Spain.
