While there has been no specific cause mentioned, the trades are confirming that production for Ridley Scott's revision of the Robin Hood legend Nottingham has now been delayed. Sources believe that it could be the possible SAG strike or labor issues which have stopped production from going forward. As we know from earlier reports, Russell Crowe was set to reunite with his friend Scott to play the Sheriff of Nottingham while actress Sienna Miller was set to play Maid Marian.
Production was supposed to begin in mid-August in London but has now been placed on hold into the TBD (To Be Determined) category. The trade even brought up the notion that it couldn't find out whether this was merely a postponement or a cancellation from Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.
When an official reasoning is given, we'll pass it along.
