SCREAM star wants to wear a MASK

With his first film outing as a leading man set to open in a couple of weeks, SCREAM alumni star Jamie Kennedy is in early talks to star in SON OF THE MASK. Ever since Jim Carrey's star took off the project has been trapped in New Line Cinema's development hell for years. With Kennedy's popularity growing as a result of his WB show THE JAMIE KENNEDY EXPERIMENT, New Line must be viewing the 32-year-old as the best candidate to inherit the mask of Loki.

Prior to today's news, the last report heard about SON OF THE MASK was that CATS & DOGS director Larry Guterman was in talks last summer to helm the movie. A new script which centered on an aspiring cartoonist named Tim Avery winding up with the possessed mask had been written by Lance Khazei. At one point in the script the cartoonist's infant son accidentally puts on the mask, resulting in all hell breaking loose.
