As long as its not as bad as that pile of steaming horse shite that was "Epic Movie".
I usually don't walk out of movies, but I just couldn't stand how bad it was.

ponyboy--

You couldn't have told that Epic Movie was going to be terrible from the previews?

ponyboy76 • May 09, 2007, 07:41am •
Well, I hadn't seen too many previews of it, but Date Movie was funny, so I thought I woud give it a try.

My bad

I'm sorry, I must have seen a different movie than you. DATE MOVIE was funny? That may have been the worst two hours of my life.

I don't like spoof movies and stay as far away from them as possible. The only spoof movie I ever enjoyed was Scream, Blazing Saddles and History of the World Part I. Epic Movie, Date Movie, Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie...All shit movies (had to sit through them at home). I'm not a fan of moron comedy (can't stand Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller movies), so that's probably why I don't like these films.

While I was definitely not a big fan the first time I saw it, Not Another Teen Movie gets better with every viewing. The Airplane movies are also excellent spoofs.

Wow wessmith you gotta get a sense of humor. Or maybe you don't see yourself as a serious movie buff, in that case nevermind. Spoof movies are a necessity in the film industry. Like stand-up comics, the good ones, they show us how ridiculous these serious things in life are when you take a different perspective. 'Spaceballs', 'Naked Gun', 'Hot Shots', 'Airplane', 'Not Another Teen Move', all of which do this. Some of the other lesser quality ones do it too but I'll admit have poor delivery.
I think it's about time we see this with all those disaster movies.... as long as they don't rip off from "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow" episode of South Park.

Couldn't be any worse than the real movie.

ponyboy76 • May 09, 2007, 09:58am •
Well, I wouldn`t really call Scream, a spoof movie. It just took most of the stuff from other scary flicks and used them, but still made it pretty serious. Scary Movie 1-3 were pretty funny and so was Not Another Teen Movie. Airplane and the Naked Gun flicks are damn funny! Not to mention Loaded Weapon and Hot Shots.
And yeah, I thought DATE MOVIE was funny.

Wessmith, I can`t for the life of me understand how anyone doesn't find the guys you mentioned funny. Wedding Crashers alone was one of the funniest movies I`ve seen in like 3 years! Its comedy gold when all of those guys get together.

I'm surprised there isn't a film yet titled Movie Movie which could be followed by Sequel Movie and Trilogy Movie and then maybe We Were Going To Stop At a Trilogy But Decided We Could Squeeze a Few More Million Movie.

I guess I'm in the middle, I quickly tire of the moronic spoofs that merely try to stuff every gag that references the last year of movies and current events - most movies that ends in the word "Movie"; however, I admit that I have avoided the last couple and so would not be able to comment on all such films. That isn't to say I don't like any spoof or sillly film. I thoroughly enjoyed Mystery Men and Dodgeball and am looking forward to Balls of Fury!
