Writer Simon Kinberg has been tapped to write the script for Wonderland's action film project, AIR SHOW.
The film, which is the result of a pitch made by CHARLIE'S ANGELS helmer McG with John Coveny and Stephanie Savage, will tell the story of terrorists attacking an air show in Chicago. A down-on-his-luck Navy pilot teams with a female rookie Blue Angel to take on the flying menacers over the streets of the Windy City.
While talking to Variety, Savage spoke of the project, saying, "We grew up at a time when big movies were the good movies."
McG adds, "We want to bring that time back. We want to satisfy on all levels -- action, comedy, heart and romance. It's TOP GUN by way of DIE HARD with Han Solo and Princess Leia fighting, flirting and flying their way to the top."
McG will likely helm the production, which will be released by Columbia.
