Scribe spies THE EYE

Ryne Pearson will pen the American version of THE EYE for Cruise/Wagner Productions. Remake rights to the original Thailand horror film had been picked up by Tom Cruise's company earlier this year.

THE EYE tells the story of a young blind woman who receives her sight from the transplant of two new eyes. However, she also sees spirits lurking around corridors and rooms, and soon finds out that they can also see her.

Pearson's screenplay for KNOWING, a thriller with paranormal overtones, is set up at DreamWorks. He also wrote MERCURY RISING and has a sci-fi spec titled GODSPEED in development at Lightstorm Entertainment.
