It seems, despite an encouraging report from FOX NEWS earlier in the week quoting Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg as being close to pre-production on the long awaited INDIANA JONES 4, fans are back to the long wait.
As frequent readers may know, there have been more than a few false starts with another INDIANA JONES movie ever since serious talks of a sequel first began ten years ago. Despite all the principles saying they wanted to return to the series, and despite several scripts reportedly being finished, all of the talk of pre-production-about-to-start has amounted to nothing. And it looks like this is another case.
"They have a story for an INDY 4, which George Lucas, Harrison and Steven have been working toward," Marvin Levy , a spokesman for Steven Spielberg, told E! Online. But he added, "They don't have a script."
This comes on the heels of Harrison Ford saying on the night of the Golden Globes to FOX NEWS, "It was always about getting the right script, and now we have it."
What's more, Levy said INDY 4 would not be Spielberg's next project after CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, despite Spielberg's indications to the contrary to FOX NEWS.
"It's not his next picture," Levy said. "We don't know what his next picture's going to be. Right now, Steven's been described as being in development heaven. They do have a story they like and they have a title [for INDY 4], but it's not been revealed."
So it looks like we're back where we were in 1993.
