SDCC: Sam Raimi Ready For EVIL DEAD 4

By: Jarrod Sarafin

While attending the San Diego Comic-Con 2008 event, director Sam Raimi has told Mania that he's definitely for an Evil Dead 4 in his near future. We know that there's an Evil Dead remake on the horizon but Raimi mentions a further installment into his horror franchise starring Bruce Campbell. Apparently, the hold up on the sequel is waiting for his co-writer and brother Ivan Raimi to get a free schedule.

When asked about delving back into the Evil Dead franchise, here's what he told Mania.

"Part 4 is definitely in my wheelhouse."

He went on to say about waiting for his brother before scripting part 4 out.

Awesome! It's about time Raimi gets back to directing some good films! Can't wait to hear more news!!!!

I SOOOOOOOOOOOO want to believe this is true, cuz I loved Army of Darkness, which is pretty obvious, but I of course know that this is just fan service! There is no way he would be pushing for a part four and a remake at the same time. And after the remake is made it would make a part four pointless. Any hope of a part 4 died with the announcement of a remake. I'm still p!$$ed the remake will not have the character of Ash! Without Ash whats the F***ing point?

Note to Sam Raimi:

Screw the remake and give us more ASH.

Sincerely yours,

DH

Sam's always maintain there will be a fourth instalment in the franchise (that's the reason there will be no Ash in the remake, Sam's got plans for the Ash character)but keeps getting side tracked with other projects, I hope he finally makes this his priority cause I've been waiting 15 years for for this movie to be made and I finally want to see this thing get done.

Even if Raimi wants to do a fourth one, there is no guarantee that Bruce Campbell will come back for it. I love the series as a cult classic, but this is an old tune that keeps getting played every so often.

Also have you seen Campbell lately? He's not in the best of shape when I see those commercials for "Burn Notice", is he comitted to getting into some shape for this film?

Bruce Cammbell can show up in whatever fuckin' shape he wants to. He's BRUCE FUCKING CAMPBELL!!!!!!!!

I share your enthusiasm Flint.

I had never seen Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. So over the last month I DVR'd all three films and did a 5-6 hr marathon and watched the whole trilogy. It was awesome.

As much as I loved Army of Darkness I think the earlier films were better. So here's hoping for a return to the cabin as opposed to the past.
