Update: We said we pass along any video footage of the Tron 2 preliminary footage shown at last weekend's Comic-Con so here we are. Fellow Maniac "William M" has passed along that the footage is currently up at Gametrailers and I'll embed it down below. If a higher quality makes its way online or the footage is officially released, we'll update this again. Watch it while you can.
Original: While we have known that Tron 2 was in development over at Disney, based on the 1982 cult classic, the studio decided to surprise audiences at the San Diego Comic Con this year by showing some preliminary footage of the upcoming sequel. Judging by the note of Maniac "Audioslave", who was on hand to watch the clip, the footage shown may be the only material the world sees for quite sometime as the film is still early into its development stages.
Here's what "audioslave" had to say on it. I saw a trailer of Tron 2 at the comic con and from whatt they told us, it's the only footage that is gonna be shown for like a year.
It showed two characters (one blue and one red) racing each other.
The red one makes the blue one crash and when the blue racer is on the floor, he says to his opponent "its only a game" . The red one answers back " Not anymore".---Maniac audioslave

Its sounding like this was not footage from the film, but a teaser comprised of original material. Like a Pixar teaser.
But hey, its a step in the right direction. Hopefully it goes before cameras soon. I look forward to seeing the footage on the 'net soon, right Disney?

I didn't realize they were actually working on this. I've heard for years that Tron 2 has been in the works, but never that it was actually being filmed. Cool.
From what I read they're not filming it yet and the footage is just for promo purposes and not part of the film. It'll be at least a couple of years before we get a movie.
