VARIETY notes that action star Steven Seagal has just closed deals to shoot THE RESCUE and a remake titled THE YAKUZA at Warner Brothers for $4 million each.

THE YAKUZA originally starred Robert Mitchum, and was directed by Sydney Pollack. The plot concerns a kidnapping scheme. THE RESCUE will feature Seagal as a Vietnam vet who journeys to Europe to locate a vanished pen-pal, a child the vet had been aiding financially.
