Sean Bean is THE HITCHER

Sean Bean will play a serial killer in the upcoming remake of THE HITCHER for Rogue Pictures. The remake of the 1986 horror film also stars Sophia Bush.

The script for the film was penned by Eric Bernt and follows a young couple driving across the country who become prey for a serial killer. The killer blames all of his murders on the young man.

No word yet who is playing Sophia Bush's male interest in the film, but with shooting set to begin this month we should find out soon.

Anyone ever catch the PBS Masterpiece Theater series called "Sharpe's Rifles" and "Sharpe's Eagle"? If you thought Sean Bean was a tough "right bastard" in his movies you ought to catch the whole series based on Bernard Cornwell's great military history series.

Bernard Cornwell used to eat BUSH'S BAKED BEANS on the battlefield!

Ok, do we need another remake?! I really like Sean Bean, but this movie is like "The Omen" and "Poseidon" ...completely and utterly unnecessary. I'm a big fan of the original "Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas Howell. It doesn't need to be revisited. 2001's "Joyride" was similar in many ways, so it's not like we haven't had a movie where a killer pursues people across the country.

Hollywood is out of frackin' ideas. It just pisses me off.

Didn't the chick in the original hitcher get ripped apart?

Is this going to be a PG-13 version made for the teenybopper masses who want to see their WB stars on TV. It's bad enough the studios released House of Wax and the horrible remake of The Fog. I know there were others, but I can only think of those two right now.

Sean Bean is cool. Liked him ever since Patriot Games. He excels at playing a real asshole. Not like there's a chance in hell I'll see this in the theater, but still, I'm happy when that guy gets work.

Probably won't see this one, but really like Sean.

Ugh. I like Sean Bean, but this remake is so unnecessary...
