Christmas is upon us once again, and as usual, video games normally top a lot of people's Christmas lists. And like always, there are always these killer games out there that everyone wants, including us (just because we get games for free doesn't mean we get everything we want). But for those of you who still have some plans for last minute shopping, here are a few items that we're sure your loved one will enjoy.
GRAND THEFT AUTO VICE CITY - Playstation 2
Probably the most requested video game this Christmas season, VICE CITY is the awaited "sequel" toe GRAND THEFT AUTO III, and doesn't disappoint. VICE CITY takes everything that made the third game great and gives you a lot more of it. The cities are larger, there are more vehicles to steal, and the game is much larger in a sense of mission variety, and also the game takes another twist when you have played for a while. Definitely a recommended game.
RED FACTION II - Playstation 2
In my opinion, this is the best shooter on any console right now. The game boasts some beautiful visuals, and has control that just "feels" right. The Geo-Mod technology has been greatly improved, making it nearly impossible to actually feel safe in the game. The dual handed weaponry also brings a lot of realism.
SHENMUE II - Xbox
Anyone surprised? Yeah, I didn't think so. SHENMUE II is one of the best Xbox games on the market, boasting a deep, involving storyline, fun characters, and lots of stuff to do. Yeah, the graphics are a bit outdated (even though they still look great) and the voices do suck, but that can really be overlooked when talking about this game. The sheer depth of SHENMUE II makes this a must-buy for Xbox owners.
SPLINTER CELL - Xbox
One of the questions that has been asked about this game is "Is it better than METAL GEAR SOLID?" But really, who cares? The game is tremendous, showing off the true power of the Microsoft Xbox. SPLINTER CELL is one of those games that is very detailed. From having to hide bodies to making sure you stay in the darkness to avoid guards, the game feels very realistic and will have you silent enough to hear your heart beating. SPLINTER CELL is one of the better Xbox games out there.
METROID PRIME - GameCube
Definitely the must-have GameCube title this Christmas. METROID PRIME actually shows that the GameCube isn't just a toy, showcasing better graphics than many thought the system was possible of doing. The weapons' effects are gorgeous, and the whole game plays very well.
This may be the last Gamers' Thumb before Christmas (that is if we get Christmas eve off), and if so, everyone have a happy and safe holiday.
Apparently Nintendo has already gone in on development of a new console, as NEC was approached by Nintendo to develop a new chip for a new system...Gamers who pre-order THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WALKER after February 16 will received a bonus disc that includes GameCube versions of OCARINA OF TIME and MASTER QUEST, which was released as OCARINA OF TIME URA in Japan for the 64DD...Arush Entertainment has signed with Playboy to develop games that will release in 2004...
Other than the SIMS ONLINE being released, there isn't much of anything coming out before Christmas. So, what is on shelves now is what is out.
