The first TV spot for Pixar's Cars 2 wasn't the only high-profile genre advertisement attached to yesterday's Daytona 500 race. DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures also chose the venue to show off their second TV spot for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon and the first video look of the "Wreckers" in action. Check it out below. The third installment of Michael Bay's trilogy stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, Alan Tudyk and John Turturro. Bay returned to the 3D helm, based on a screenplay by Ehren Kruger.
Plot Concept: The third installment sees Sam (Shia LaBeouf) taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime and the Transformers. With the film's story centering within the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet's most dangerous secrets, Shockwave is set to play the top villain for this latest tale. The production was shot with 3D technology.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit 3D/2D/IMAX theaters July 1, 2011.
