July 13, 2005 - Paramount Pictures is in final talks with Owen Wilson to star in remake of THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY.

October 31, 2005 - Hollywood Reporter: Paramount Pictures and the producers apparently could not find an appropriate female lead to star opposite Owen Wilson. With the ongoing delay, Wilson has moved on to other projects. The film was to be directed by Mark Waters and produced by Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and John Goldwyn. Per rumors, Zach Braff's name is being tossed around as a possible replacement for Wilson.
