FUNimation has sent out notice that the 11/23/2010 release of Sekirei's first complete season on DVD has sold out at the distribution level. The action anime series featuring voluptuous vixens sold out at retail in its first week following its release on November 23. The release also came in at #1 for new anime series releases compiled by Nielsen VideoScan First Alert Week Ending Nov 28, 2010!

"We at FUNimation have rushed manufacturing and are now replenishing our accounts with more DVD’s of Sekirei The Complete Series. Please check with your favorite retailer or online store for availability. We give thanks to the fans that bought Sekirei last week and our apologies to the fans that have had to wait for this second shipment to hit stores. We love the series and are glad that you do also. Happy viewing!"

guess this means that season 3 will be a must license for them once it starts airing in japan,  it hasn't been announced yet, but I am sure season 3 will start sooner or later,

can't leave us hanging,

I hope this means we will have a BD release as well.

Boobies for the win!

We need the 2nd season licensed and the 3rd season created!

I guess I am going to re-consider and buy this series after all.  It sounds like everyone likes this series.  I was a bit skeptical when this series was being compared to Martial Hearts.  All aboard!

Keep in mind that this does not mean that people have actually been buying the show. It just means that retailers bought up all the copies. Not customers. Personally, my local Best Buy had two copies sitting there on Black Friday, and as of last night, both copies are still sitting there.
