Hey!  There was this poll conducted by FUNimation.  It stated that about 75% of anime buys prefer their anime DUBBED IN ENGLISH.

Oh never mind.

*sigh*

Here we go again.

They flood the market with DVDs sans quality-control, sans-dubs and sans-extras (in most instances), and expect people to lap it up like they were the old ADV. Sooner or later, those mistakes are going to catch up to them, and come 2011, Sentai (and all its many parts) will be neck deep in hot water... again (financially speaking). And yet again, no amount of Z-list live-action movies will save them from disaster.

So, yeah, this is just to express my ongoing dissappointment over Clannad and After Story not getting a dub nor a quality control makeover. I really want to see it happen, but ever since ADV dropped the ball on its entire manga line and couldn't finish the remainder of its' Sojitz titles, I'm expecting to hear a ton of lies and half-truths that ultimately go nowhere. So Sentai, if you're reading this, try to make good on your promises instead of saying you'll do it and never take action on it while remaining tight-lipped (that goes triple for you, Chris Oarr- ADV/Sentai's mis-information czar). That includes a Clannad dub (if you're not going to do it, just say no).

Um...not being one to throw tantrums over unrelated titles, I missed the part in the press statement that said the January titles were going out sans dubs?  0_o??

(And FTR, Petite Princess Yucie is cuter than it looks.)

djanss: The lack of a dub is confirmed from Section23's own press release: www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2009-10-29/section23-films-announces-january-slate

Scroll down and read.  Japanese with English subs will be a repeated phrase.  Yucie's about the only thing getting a dub and only because it already had one.

It still amazes me that anyone expects any new releases from them to have an English dub.  Give up folks, it ain't happening.  They don't have the money and never will.

Hectotane 10/30/2009 12:07:33 PM

@ Richard J:  But you know, it's not just the lack of the English dubbing that earns "Snickering..." a bad reputation.

The sloppy box sets (for Chrono Crusade, E's Otherwise, and a few others); the catering to the pro-moe anime fanbase only, the gigantic divide "Snickering..." created between them and the mainstream anime fanbase.

Seriously, though.  Something needs to be done about this "non-delivery flu" that everyone's catching and in denial about.

I can't believe that YUA's second season will be finished that quickly!  Any word whether or not Sentai will get Season 3 and the next 2 films or re-release the first film again?
