It seems clear the upcoming sequel X-Files 2 will be picking up where the series ended a few years back as far as the relationship between Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). If you don't know how the series ended between the two characters, then these new set photos will be somewhat spoilerish. The upcoming sequel  co-stars Xzibit, Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly, Callum Keith Rennie and Adam Godley. Series creator Chris Carter is behind the camera handling the directing, based on a screenplay he co-wrote with fellow executive producer Frank Spotnitz. Production is underway in Vancouver.

X-Files 2 will hit theaters July 25, 2008.

I loved the first movie, and the show was kick ass, so I think that this will be awesome....now if they will only give Firefly one more chance.

I love me some real X-Files, and I think this story will be as good as the best stand-alone episodes. Don't ask me why, I just get that feeling.

@Whiskeymovie - I expect that with the success of "Serenity" we may see more Firefly movies, but probably not a resurrected TV series. Personally I don't care much WHAT format as long as we get to see Mel and crew again.

lame - they kissed in show. That werewolf better be in the movie or I'll be pissed off.

Nice. It's been awhile. Wasn't she pregnant with his kid in the end of the series?
Whiskey & surley - Brand new Serenity comic by The Man Himself shipped this week in case you didn't know. Not the same as a show or flick, but it’s got Mal & the gang,

mckracken - prepare to be disappointed most likely then...there was an article on here a few weeks back that hinted that the "leaked" werewolf pic was leaked on purpose to throw fans off of the actual plot. I'm hoping it will still be a good movie though. At least we know that it's going to be a stand alone supernatural plot. And I'm glad that they're going to start where the series left off instead of trying to pull a fast one on us. I've been wondering how the movie will go since at the end of the series they were both considered fugitives by all branches of the government.
