Actress Jane Seymour will star in a five episode arc in SMALLVILLE, reports the trade magazine Variety. Seymour will play Genevieve Teague, the mother of Jason (played by Jensen Ackles), described as a wealthy socialite that may hold the secret behind Lana's mysterious Kryptonian tattoo on her back.

The actress has had a long career on the big and small screens. In addition to playing the title role of DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN on the hit CBS series for five seasons, Seymour also starred in the feature films LIVE AND LET DIE, SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. She also appeared opposite SUPERMAN star Christopher Reeve in the romantic time travel fantasy SOMEWHERE IN TIME.

Seymour's first appearance on SMALLVILLE will be the ninth episode of the fourth season, titled "Bound", scheduled to air November 17.
