YouTube has become such a huge part of our lives. Remember what it was like to watch trailers and clips of Movies/ TV shows/ Video Games before it? It has become such a great tool for spreading the word about all of our favorite genre items. Think With Google posted an interesting piece on the Top YouTube Trailers of the Year. Here is their findings on what trailers lead the leaderboards.
“The resulting list reflects the trailers that truly captured audience attention this year and showcases what resonated with fans in 2012. These can’t-miss clips have become a shared experience on YouTube, and serve as a barometer for audience appetites.” - Think With Google
1. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - Activision
2. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - Activision
3. The Dark Knight Rises - Warner Brothers Pictures
4. Skyfall - Sony Pictures
5. Ted - Universal Pictures
6. Hunger Games - Lionsgate
7. Revolution - NBC
8. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - Activision
9. Skyfall - Sony Pictures
10. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - Activision
That is Think With Google’s official list. I find it interesting that The Avengers appear no where on the top 10. This might be because Marvel posted so many clips and trailers on their own site. In looking at this list one cannot deny the YouTube’s pull and power, especially for Sony’s Skyfall and Activision’s Call of Duty franchise.
