FUNimation has made another announcement this weekend at Katsucon (no official press release has come through yet with full details) that the company will be bringing Sgt. Frog back for more episodes. They've licensed the "third season" for another block of twenty-six episodes. Sgt. Frog has had numerous releases in the last couple of years after its ill-fated start at ADV Films before FUNimation ended up with it. The show originally was thought to a a cinch for getting on TV but it never materialized there and has had a hard time with home video sales. FUNimation has released the show several times over and the sales on the various sets must be encouraging overall to go back for another round.
FUNimation currently has 51 episodes available via various streaming sources and on Hulu they offer it in subbed and dubbed form as well. So check it out and see if it's up your alley.
Plot concept: Keroro is Sergeant Frog, the leader of a platoon of warriors sent to conquer Earth. When the mission was aborted, Keroro was abandoned. Now, this once proud soldier spends more time wielding a vacuum than he does the weapons of war. Sure, it's nice that he's got his own room, but Sergeant Frog still occasionally yearns to overcome his karaoke addiction and reassemble his troops.
