It is a big week for Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Oz The Great and Powerful) and and his next producing project just landed it’s director. Sam Raimi has just acquired Gil Kenan (Monster House) to direct his reboot of MGM’s Poltergeist.
Collider.com and Deadline.com are both reporting that the script is being helmed by “David Lindsay-Abaire (Oz the Great and Powerful), Scott Derrickson (Sinister), Juliet Snowden (The Possession), Stiles White (Boogeyman) and Paul Harris Boardman (The Exorcism of Emily Rose)”. Holy Terror, that is a lot of horror writers.
The original Poltergeist was directed by Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and produced by Steven Spielberg (E.T., Schindler’s List) and was released in 1982.
