What an afternoon for wild rumors, both of which will be appearing in tomorrow's rumor column. The Linda Hamilton returning to Terminator was out of left field and now, we have a possible return to Lethal Weapon from original screenwriter Shane Black, knocking one out of right field. TrackingB.com is reporting that the man behind the characters has privately penned a spec script for Lethal Weapon 5 and has approached producer Joel Silver on returning.
The site also reports that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are up for returning to their roles as well.
This rumor, while wild, could be true as Black wasn't pleased with the direction that Lethal Weapon 3 and 4 took with his characters. The fifth installment is reportedly focused on homicidal Riggs (Mel Gibson) getting set to retire, but pulls Murtaugh (Danny Glover) out of retirement to solve one final case, before they both officially head off into the sunset.
