Shatner Returning to STAR TREK?

By: Jarrod Sarafin, News Editor

I'm going to file this under "Movie Rumor Control" for now due to the fact that this bit of news keeps getting reported by online outlets but never seems to get confirmed by Paramount or JJ Abrams. Once again, William Shatner is reportedly set for a cameo in the next STAR TREK film, says WENN. As we know, his old friend Leonard Nimoy is officially attached from studio press releases but the trades have been silent on whether Shatner will be making an appearance. For months now, it's been back and forth on whether he makes an appearance.

Big thanks to Scooper G.J for sending this in...

I hear Shatner's hair piece is asking for too much money.

Get in my belly!!

I would hang it up if I were Shatner, but the money is probably the lure or maybe he's bored.

Or maybe he is completely unable to detach himself from Kirk. Not that I would blame him for taking the role if they choose to add the older character in the movie But it seems like The Shat has had an especially difficult time letting go.

WENN is one of , if not THE, worst "news" sites ... that IMDB licenses their "news" is a disgrace
Really why not accept Shatner's own words

With the way Shatner LEFT the Trek world, I say one more appearance (if it's a good one) would fix things quite well. I actually heard/read some rumor that what the young TOS characters would do would affect the space time continuum, altering the future. It's not a bad way of putting some band-aids over the wounds inflicted on Star Trek by recent writers/producers.

who cares to begin with?

in case the rest of you can't read, they're talking about 'star TREK', not 'star WARS'.

Star Trek is just a series that jumped the shark with tribbles(the first time) and saw its only worthwhile update with ds9, even though its best storyline was stolen from michael straczynski's babylon 5.

but hang in there...sooner or later, someone's bound to satisfy your pathetic, 50 year old fanboy lust for a sequel that matters.

(and for the record, don't bother insulting star wars to feel better about yourselves. it only sucks a parsec or two less than you do.)

nobody said anything about Star Wars daxwhaxd. Yes Trek has had problems but given the right director, a good movie could actually come from all this.
also ...from what I hear, you cant really call Nemoy Shatners "friend" LOL! who knows though... Nemoy hasnt really done much lately ...except for getting older.

i said something about star wars in my second line, mckracken.

nice reading comprehension.

As Shatner would say: "Make friends with fibre."
