I think it is a fantastic idea. All they need to do is bring Lucas in. Make the entire trilogy. Perfect.
As long as Speilberg and Lucas are working on TinTin they won't be able to destroy good movie concepts...

Those British buddies that know all about fighting off zombies and saving crusty jugglers are set to lead Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's upcoming Tintin trilogy, reports AICN. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) have landed the roles of Thomson and Thompson. They will be co-starring alongside the motion-captured Andy Serkis (Gollum in Jackson's Lotr trilogy). Thomas Sangster was previously set to play Tintin but had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts so there's no word on who will play the title character.
Spielberg is directing the first film for DreamWorks, targeted for a 2010 release, while Peter will take over the director's chair for the sequel.
Plot Concept: DreamWorks' first "Tintin" feature, targeted for a 2010 release, will be based on two of the books, "The Secret of the Unicorn" and "Red Rackham's Treasure," written by Tintin creator Herge between 1942 and 1944. The movies will be animated with motion-capture technology and star Andy Serkis as Tintin's friend Captain Haddock. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost play Thomson and Thompson.

Ok, this just ratcheted up my interest in this movie a notch. Now, my interest is set on 1.
