Bring it on.

Warner Bros. Pictures have updated their database for Sherlock Holmes by setting a November 20, 2009 release date. This has the film going up against Sony's upcoming animated film Planet 51 next fall. The upcoming Arthur Doyle adaptation, which will be based off a coming comic, will star Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong and Kelly Reilly. Director Guy Ritchie leads production which is currently shooting in London, based on a screenplay that Ritchie co-wrote with Tony Peckham.
Plot Summary: Robert Downey Jr. brings the legendary detective to life as he has never been portrayed before. Jude Law stars as Holmes' trusted colleague, Watson, a doctor and war veteran who is a formidable ally for Sherlock Holmes. Rachel McAdams stars as Irene Adler, the only woman ever to have bested Holmes and who has maintained a tempestuous relationship with the detective. Mark Strong stars as their mysterious new adversary, Blackwood. Kelly Reilly will play Watson's love interest, Mary.

This is going be be difficult, even for RDJ, this character is 120 years old and has been recreated hundreds of times, is there really anyway to prtray thim that is 100% new, but if anyone can do it is RDJ!
Sure there's a way, but it wouldn't be the same character then would it?
The only thing that flaws this movie for me is Guy Ritchie. Sorry dude, not a fan. Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes will get my butt in the seat for this film though. Keeping my fingers crossed.
David Fincher would have been a far superior choice for directing this movie....oh well.
I know it came up last time, but my only complaint is the hat... it just looks way too much like Chaplin, which probably wouldn't be so much of an issue if RDJ hadn't already played him.
RDJ, Jude Law, Rachel McAdams... I am there.
