Love Sherlock, love the casting and writing behind it.  When I first heard modern day Sherlock Holmes, I thought "No Thanks."  But now, for both Cumberpatch and Freeman, their characters are rivaling Biblo Baggins and Into Darkness' Khan as their biggest, most iconic roles, though for Cumberpatch his spot-on Khan role suffered from being in a crappy, Deux Ex Machina movie.  His acting chops are much better showcased as Sherlock.

As for the Three Musketeers, I think I will wait to hear from the Maniacs before I bother to check this out.  Still have bad, repressed memories from the Disney - Charlie Sheen / Kiefer Sutherland as Early Modern French Musketeers back in the 1990s....

Why in the world would you have bad repressed memories from the Disney Musketeers?  That was a good movie.  The only Musketeer movie I didn't like was that last one with the 3D steampunk effects.  I'm looking forward to this series.

@ Modo

I feeel your pain, Brother...

The 90s movie was teriible, but I have some hope for this, at least it can't be worse than the PWS Anderson atrocity...

I'm looking forward to this new version of the Musketeers. Actiion, adventure, derring-do, fancy swordplay and beautiful women in bodices, yes. I still haven't seen that last version but my favorite movie version was the 70s one with York, Chamberlain, Reed, Welch, Dunaway, and Heston.

The best Musketeers anything ever made for the screen was "The Man In The Iron Mask". Nuff said until the end of time.
