The first trailer for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes has premiered online this evening courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. This latest adaptation which brings the iconic character to life stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Kelly Reilly and Eddie Marsan. Ritchie helmed the action, based on a screenplay that he co-wrote alongside Michael Johnson and Anthony Peckham.

Plot Concept: In a dynamic new portrayal of Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous characters, "Sherlock Holmes" sends Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his stalwart partner Watson (Jude Watson) on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.
Sherlock Holmes will hit theaters December 25, 2009.

I thought it actually looked good.......it does how ever have major competition by going up against Jim Carrey's Scrooge remake for the Holiday season.............Guy Ritchie knows how to make a good movie..... its all gonna depend on how good of an onscreen duo Downey and Law make.....
Same thoughts...As I said on my Twitter , I wasn't really excited about Sherlock Holmes up until now even though I'm a big Ritchie fan (outside of his Madonna phase).
But this first trailer has received my interests. Can't wait to check it out this Christmas.
I hope it has a mystery element to it. From this it looks like juts another action film but I am giving it a chance.
I thought it looked damn good, plenty of action and funny. This will be a hit.
That looks really good. I`ve always been a Sherlock Holmes fan and I like Ritchie's movies, apart from Revolver and the Madonna crap. Its funny how RDJ always has a scene in a movie where he is in some awkward position and its always in the trailer. He is funny as hell and a great actor.
This will be more fun than the Young Sherlock Holmes movie! Wooo Hooo!!

I think Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. were inspired casting choices. I never thought of Sherlock Holmes as an action hero but...I'll give it a chance.
