Shia LaBeouf joins 'Indiana Jones 4'

According to ComingSoon, Shia LaBeouf has signed on to join the upcoming sequel, Indiana Jones 4.

'I was hoping the rumors were true, so I couldn't be more thrilled,' said Shia. 'To be cast in an 'Indiana Jones' film is like grabbing the brass ring and holding on for the ride. I'll do my best to meet the high standards that Steven, George, and Harrison have set and I can't wait to take that giant step in front of the Indy cameras.'

LaBeouf will play the son of the adventuresome archaeologist to be played once again by Harrison Ford.

Indiana Jones 4 is currently scheduled for a May 22, 2008 release.

What's wrong with Shia? It's not like he's a sucky actor. He's pretty damn good. Have you seen A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints or The Battle of...? I forgot the rest of the title 'something Hill' I think. How 'bout Holes even? Don't hate him for his Disney show. I didn't even watch that but hell, he was probably good in that too.

So what is his name going to be? Illinois Jones? Let me guess, Indy named his dog Illinois. Please tell me I'm wrong about this.

I think this is the perfect bit of casting for this movie. For one they are going to capture the attention of the younger crowd as most tweens and younger people, and people with kids for that matter will know him from the disney show even stevens. I have seen that show as one of my children seemed to really love it a lot and he was good in it. I have also seen holes and the one where he is a golfer, bobby jones I think. This kid can act and he does it well. I look forward to seeing him paired with his grandpa, I mean dad, Indy.

Just saw Disturbia last night, and was impressed with Shia. Enjoyed him in Holes too. I'm interested to see how he does in Transformers, but I think he'll be fine in that and in Indy 4. My guess is they'll try to pull in the rap crowd and have him be Mike Jones.
