I suppose the two films in the Double Feature are Near Dark and Planet of the Vampires; you forgot to name them. Near Dark is arguably the best vampire movie ever made, and Planet of the Vampires is, as you said, the prototype of the scifi horror movie with atmosphere to burn and some of the goriest scenes you'll find in a '60's movie.

It's funny I just re-watched this again as it came up in my netflix recommendations. This is a great flick. And I'm not just saying it but its held up well over time.

"This was even the case as Rockstar games adapted the film into an open world, beat'em up video game in 2005 (a mix of Double Dragon and GTA), which coincided with Paramount Pictures' first (and only as of this writing) DVD release of the film. Sadly though, the form it was released in (The Ultimate Director's Cut) brings the film more inline with Walter Hill's original comic book-esk vision."

Actually, there Paramount did release a theactrical version of The Warriors in 2001 (it is now rare to OOP). The UDC was their second release.

Love this movie. I remember being a kid at the dawn of the VHS era and my buddy owned a machine, one of the first in my neighborhood. We got to rent rated R flicks like this and watch them at 9-10 years old.

We watched this one over and over. Great film.

I recently picked it up on blu-ray for $5 and still holds.

One of my favorites from growing up in the 70s/80s
