TDK Interactive announced today that it will bring popular movie character Shrek to the Game Boy Advance. Based on the very successful Dreamworks film, Shrek will be featured along with other favorites such as Princess Fiona and Donkey in a kart racing title.
"The response to Shrek both as a feature film and video game has been
tremendous," said Vincent Bitetti, chief executive officer of TDK Mediactive. "Our first Shrek title, SHREK FAIRY TALE FREAKDOWN, is a top selling Game Boy Color game, and Shrek for the Xbox video game system has already received positive previews and strong consumer interest. With so much momentum for this franchise, we are pleased to announce our first 'Shrek' title for the Game Boy Advance."
"The new Game Boy Advance title will be a great addition to an already
impressive line from TDK," said Brad Globe, head of DreamWorks Consumer Products. "We're pleased to have a top-selling Game Boy Color title in SHREK FAIRY TALE FREAKDOWN and are looking forward to continuing the Shrek franchise."
The untitled game is set to be released in Spring of 2002.
