Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil:Apocalypse) has been cast in the upcoming sci-fi two hour back door pilot of Virtuality for NBC. HR is reporting that Joy Bryant, Nelson Lee, Omar Metwally and Richie Coster have also joined the cast while British actor James D'Arcy is set to lead. Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) created the new series and Peter Berg is directing the pilot.

Plot Concept: The new series is set aboard the Phaeton, Earth's first starship, on a 10-year journey to explore a distant solar system. To help the crew endure the long trip, NASA equips the ship with advanced virtual reality modules, allowing them to assume adventurous identities and go anyplace they want. D'Arcy will play the ship's psych officer, who produces the virtual reality shows.

Bryant is set as Alice Thibadeau, Lee is playing Kenji Yamaguchi, Guillory will portray Rika Goddard, Metwally is set as Dr. Eyal Meyer, and Coster was cast as Jimmy Johnson.

HOLY SHIT that sounds like Star Trak. With the exploring the universe and the virtual reality room when they play out characters. Sounds like a rip-off. What do you think Mania brotha's and sista's?????

Sure does on the surface, wolfmanx. Not sure what to make of it yet. Are the virtual realities what make up the bulk of the narrative? Is this about coping with deep space missions? Is an astronaut going to propel him/herself into a new virtual world every week where they will need to help a single mother save the farm from evil developers? Is Omar Metwally really metalwater? Scratch that last one. This is a Ron Moore creation :)

Moore’s won the benefit of the doubt with me thanks to BSG. This sure does have a ST:TNG smell about it. I look forward to finding out moore (bwa ha ha) about it.

I agree.

This sounds like a rip off of both ST:TNG and Dr. Who. I like the Sci-Fi movies where a crew of a ship undergo periles. I'm not sure what they call it, but movies like Alien, The Abyss, Deep Star Six, and such. If this show is along those lines than I think I'd be bored after a couple of episodes. Maybe this is a mix of all the above.

But I'm with you joey. Moore's done an awesome job with BSG, but if he sold his soul for it's success does that mean this will be good? Or did the devil trick him and the rest of his life will be filled with crappy success, that being his "hell." Tasting the fruits of being on top than living the rest of his life trying to get back there.

Yep, she's Troi (spelling) with a holodeck.

Yeah I guess your right joey. But if they talk about warp speed I am out of here.

Word on that wolfman. What makes is all the more suspect is Moore did a lot of work on Star Trek: The Next Generation, now that I think about it.

But as I said, BSG is a great show that regularly kicks my ass - so here's hoping!

I read somewhere the Virtual reality has a virus or bug, so I think this sounds like TNG meets Enterprise meets Matrix meets LOST.

No doubt the Captain of the ship will be busy tappin' a couple of VR hookers.
