According to a source of AICN's, Michael Biehn and Sigourney Weaver may both be up for roles in James Cameron's upcoming sci fi epic, Avatar.

AICN's Scooper says:

Sigourney Weaver was invited on a show called "le grand journal" here in france, and she was asked if she would do another "alien"...
She said no, she said that everything has been said about this creature and for her, it's over..

BUT she said that she will be making a big sci-fi movie with james cameron... But she didn't want to talk too much about it...
Yet i don't know if it's "battle angel alita" or "avatar"...

KJ's Take:  Weaver is awesome, and so long as she fits the role I say hell yeah.  Though I generally laugh at everything AICN says as they tend to be one of the most unreliable sites when it comes to rumors.

I often wonder if they just make the stuff up.

The only chance in Michael Biehn life was to be friend with james cameron ! beside his work with that guy, he never did anything correct !

I think this is good news for the film.

Hang on Exfan. Johnny Ringo in Tombstone? Biehn has had SOME good parts outside of Cameron.

I agree that Biehn has done good work outside of Cameron's influence. From everything I've read (especially from an interview harry Knowles did for ainc.com), Biehn would be good in the title role unless he's a little too old. From Cameron's description of the character, Biehn fits that mold. As for Weaver, I've always enjoyed her work. I still wonder if Avatar will ever make it to the big screen. I truly hope so, because Cameron's famous for pushing the creative envelope...Titantic aside. I know I'm in the minority, but I really disliked that movie.

Biehn was always one of my favorite actors, I thought he was a great foil to Kilmer's Doc Holiday. He just had the unfortunate luck to step into films when Van dame, Stallone, and Arnie were what studios were looking for. (hell even Brian Bosworth got a movie because he was big).

If this rumor prooves true, maybe Grindhouse and this film will get him more roles, although with 40+ features to his resume (3 in post/pre-production) I think he has done pretty well being an every man type of character.

Biehn was also great in The Rock, and I always thought The Seventh Sign was kinda underrated. Apparently he's also going to be in Tarrentino's next flick. He never turned into a big leading man, but he's certainly kept busy.
I wonder if Lance Hendricson and Bill Paxton will have parts in Avatar as well; the other two repeating Cameron-film alumni. And the girl who played Vasquez in Aliens too, he usually has her hiding in all of his movies.

Weaver and Biehn can only add credibility to "Avatar"...not that Cameron NEEDS any credibility.

Michael Biehn is a great choice. I think he's a fine actor. I'd like to know what Weaver will be doing before I get excited about her.

I love Biehn. He's always been the bad ass guy that wasn't completely buff. The Everyman that could kill you faster than jack bauer.
I used to pray he'd play Daredevil when i was younger. But alas he's too old.

Biehn was awesome in the short-lived TV series The Magnificent Seven. The whole cast was great.
