"Imagine getting a whole back story to Michael Meyers before he grabbed the clown mask and killed his family."

You did see Rob Zombie's Halloween, right? While I know some fans of the franchise didn't like Rob's versions, I really liked how he did indeed give us a back story to the Meyers clan. While the mother and father in Rob's film certainly differ from the nicely dressed couple who arrive home a little too late at the beginning of the original film, Rob's take on the dysfunctional family certainly makes Michael's behavior believable.

But I do have to agree with you about Silent Night, Deadly Night. I saw this movie years ago before I really began to watch a lot of horror films and even then I knew how horrid this movie really was. Didn't even want to watch any of the sequals.

I wasn't thinking of the remake of Halloween in the review. Though you make a good point. I was relating it to  the original. It starts off great... well pretty good. It just goes against itself.
