Academy Award winning composer James Horner re-teams with directing legend Terrence Malick for the film THE NEW WORLD, and the soundtrack album will be released in early 2006 by old world label, Silva Screen Records of England. Horner remains one of the most lauded composers in the film industry with a glittering track record of over 150 scores that includes TITANIC, BRAVEHEART, FIELD OF DREAMS and APOLLO 13.
THE NEW WORLD is an adventure set amidst the first encounter of European and Native American Cultures during the founding of the Jamestown Virginia settlement in 1607. Illustrious filmmaker Terrance Malick gives his own individual account of the romantic story of Pocahontas and John Smith. The film opens with a limited engagement in the USA on Christmas Day, 2005.
