SILVER SURFER to soar again

The Newsarama website scored the first look at Marvel's forthcoming SILVER SURFER comic series, due out in July. The book will be written by Stacy Weiss and Dan Chariton, with artist provided by Milx. Tom Brevoort is the book's editor.
Unlike earlier forms of the character, this new SURFER series is painting the cosmic hero in a slightly darker format. After all, he's silver, he's an alien, and he's flying around on something that resembles a surfboard kinda naked. "The challenge of finding a way to bring him back to what he'd been was interesting to me," explained Brevoort to Newsarama. When we hit on the idea of portraying him like a character in an M. Night Shyamalan film, I had the hook that would make the series work for me."
According to the piece, the writers first attracted the attention of Marvel through their screenplays.
