News has it that Marvel's Silver Surfer will play a large role in Fantastic Four 2, slated for a July 4, 2007 release.

20th Century Fox is currently deciding between scripts by Mark Frost (X-Men 2) and Don Payne (My Super-Ex Girlfriend). Payne's script appears to be the front runner and includes the Silver Surfer.

Production for Fantastic Four 2 is set to begin on August 1, 2006 and Tim Story is back to direct. The first movie grossed more than $154 million domestically and hopes for more in its second bow.

The First film was ok. I would have liked it better if Dr. Doom was done properly.

FF sucked. I was really wanting Galactus' big screen debut to be in something of a higher caliber. But FF1 was kind of a primer...hopefully FF2 will be much better

I never cared for silver surfer. Just don't think it will transfer well to movies. Also FF was ok. It had major script problems and direction problems, but if you look at it as a comedy, it was fun. Action just so so, drama not well done, very rushed. Funny though. When I left the theater I was glad I saw it. I think next one will be better, though Surfer I think will look dumb. Sorry to piss off any huge fans of SS.

Have you ever thought about using punctuation like a period maybe? Oh and CAPS too. Lazy typer, dietvanilla? (Don't get pissed, I'm just saying, because it makes it more difficult to read your posts.) Oh and what the hell is diet vanilla anyway? Oh and I like Jude law, but I can't agree with you more. He should not be SS.

Dragon261 I love that casting idea! The Silver Surfer is one of those really interesting hero's that starts out as a villain. I would love to see that kind of drama played out as he decides whether or not to help the Earth turn back Galactus.

Pony, Cinescape's been falling more and more behind with its "up to date" news for some time now. As for FF:I...I really liked it. Especially the interaction between Ben and Johnny...that was good fun. Here's hoping they expand more on the relationship between Reed and Doom. I think Doom's backstory in FF:I was the only weak link (but how do you recreate a villain whose origin story involves a practically medieval Latveria and gypsies?) The producers had no choice but to update that piece of the storyline for modern viewers (and folks who've never read a comic).

PS--Diesel as The Silver Surfer? I'm imagining his muscle bound ass falling THROUGH his cosmic board right now.

FF1 was weak overall I gave it a C . They were held down by having to do the origin story. I hope that FF2 will take the handcuffs off them and allow for the story to be less comedic and more action/drama oriented. Please no more horrible extra's acting in the background talking and not talking.
