I'm a fan of continuation in stories as well but I'm shocked at so many people on this site upset they changed things for First Class.  Really?  Have you read Marvel that last twenty years?  They've only rewritten xmen stories to death but you are going to have a problem with the movies doing it?

Hobbs-Im sure i speak on behalf of most the Maniacs here when i say this: Im sure they have rewritten xmen stories a 1000 times. I really dont know since i stopped collecting xmen comics after the Onslaught series many many years ago. But these movies are supposed to be the "Beginning" of the Xmen. And we all recall (those 1st generation fans) the stories being very clear, classic and concrete. Even tho a story/history has been rewritten, the first one will always be the ORIGINAL and beloved story to most.

SO YEAH man, we have a problem with it, and we'll bitch and whine about it til the day we die. 50 years from now, they can reboot, redo the movies 100 times over for all i care/ But before we die, I'd like to see what i loved and cared for as a kid properly done. Imagine an Xmen movie done w/ the same style and finesse as the Avengers!

No i'm with Hobbs.  I'm not upset they changed it.  They had to or they'd be regurgitating everything.  Look at X3.  There were so many mutants it's hard to see them as an endangered species.

I like the reboot.  I can give you years of when I stopped picking up the comics for what they did in story lines.  This is just a movie so i'll be there.  Just don't kill off Havok!!!

@violator - I'd like to go even further than that....

Have'nt we UberFanboys, as a collective, helped build these Franchise's? Is'nt it WE, who put money into the coffers of the Studio's? Is it to much to ask for, nowadays, as Consumers, to get what we want, and not be satisfied by what the Studio hands us.......If you order a Steak medium well and get handed a RARE steak, dont you send it back(I would'nt cause I'm afraid some TROLL will spit on it, lol)????

After all these long years, have'nt we settled for less enough times???

With movies like TDK & Avengers.....Why should'nt WE, who pays the Studio's our Hard Earned Money, get exactly the product we've been asking for all along........IMO, lol.

I agree, Violator, speaks for me, about this subject!!!

millean 8/2/2012 9:44:47 AM

I don't really have a problem at all with 1st class, it was an excellent movie.  The rest of the X-Men timeline is confusing as hell, though.  :)

DarthoftheDead 8/2/2012 9:57:39 AM

Chris Nolan say's........"Ha Ha Ha, I'm Chris Nolan and you just gave me alot of money."

DarthoftheDead 8/2/2012 10:08:06 AM

@Millean - I respectfully reverse, lol, I really enjoyed the 1st Xmen trilogy but hardly liked Xmen 1st class at all, except for......

when Wolverine tells Prof X & Magneto to go Fxk themselves...possibly the greatest scene in a CBM ever!!!

ElBaz13 8/2/2012 10:37:00 AM

Amen Violator! 100% agree.

Oh, and some of you keep referring to X-men First Class as a reboot. IT WASN"T A REBOOT!

A reboot would have had the original X-men in it. It should have been a reboot but they had to get Singer to produce it and chose to remain in his X-men Singer-verse.

But of course...since I'm an X-men fan, out of curiousity, I will still want to see it. Just like I did with FC, I will buy a ticket of a Marvel Studios movie and sneak in this one so Fox doesn't get a penny from me. I added $12 to Thor's box office gross last year. :)

"Hi,....I'm Chris Nolan.....and I'd just like to say that I endorse Christian Bale as President for the Anger Management Association."
