DUDE, SPIN THE WORDS HOWEVER IT MAKES YOU COMFORTABLE, IT'S STEALING

i DON'T HAVE TO POINT OUT PAST EXAMPLES OF COMPANIES GOING AFTER PEOPLE SHARING MUSIC AND SO ON. yOU KNOW IT'S STEALING

aND IF THE WORD WASN'T GREAT IT DON'T MATTER, THE THING IS THAT SOME WOULD'VE WENT TO SEE IT REGARDLESS OF IT GETTING PANNED BY CRITICS BUT WHY BOTHER WHEN STOLEN COPIES ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE

tHIS AIN'T NO DIFFERENT THAN BOOTLEGGERS SELLING PIRATED COPIES IN THE STREET JUST CAUSE YOU STOLED IT FOR FREE DOESN'T MATTER

hanso 12/17/2009 12:54:05 PM

It will be ok buddy, no need for caps.  Sorry you feel that way.

monkeyfoot 12/17/2009 1:04:49 PM

Wiseguy is correct, IMHO, bootleg DVDs are stealing. I sometimes reconcile the copies that come my way by saying it wasn't a movie I intended to see in the theatre anyway, but it's still theft. You wouldn't want to write a novel, publish it, then find out hundreds maybe thousands of it are being given away as PDfs on sharing sites. Maybe your book might still sell well, but you'll always wonder how much am I being cheated out of that's rightfully mine?

I also don't think that a good movie will always be a success and a bad one will naturally fail. How many films you thought were brilliant never made a cent and ones you thought were awful became blockbusters. Whether an individual likes or dislikes something may turn out to be different than the general public thinks. I thought Transformers 2 was dumb, critics thought it was bad, Rotten Tomatoes users rated it poorly, but I bet you wouldn't mind a few percentage points of its massive B.O. Was the public idiots not to see what was so obvious to me? If they are idiots, why did they love TDK or LOTR?

They can also wonder how much they made thanks to piracy. I"m not in favor of people selling bootleg dvds and making money off others work. I do think filesharing can be a useful tool and not something to just hate on. For example I downloaded Taken, had no interest in going to see it at the movies mind you, saw that the film was great and told a couple of peeps to check it out cause it was really good. Sure the studio didn't get my $10 but it got $40 thanks to my word of mouth.

It's very rare that I download a movie though, I use sharing more for TV stuff I may miss. For example, I downloaded most of season 2 Sons of Anarchy so I could actually sit down and watch the final 4 episodes as they aired. Would FX rather I hadn't and missed the 4 episodes or that I did and sat through the commercials during the 4 eps they aired?

I've got no hate for filesharing or for bootleg DVD watchers. Like in your example, they have their place. I just think when you do it you shouldn't try to to kid yourself about what you are doing.

A co-worker handed me some copies of flicks still in the theatre today. And I know full well I'm stealing them.

Wolverweiner was the worst film of the year just make te poor guy watch it.

SINGER WINS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The disater known as 20th Century Fox Motion Pictures continues to make mistakes.

Singerman Returns

No SpiderPig 4 = JUSTICE is served. Raimi made his first good film in in 9 years in 2009 with Drag Me to Hell.

Sam Raimi should do a Punisher film.

scytheofluna 12/17/2009 2:43:14 PM

Raimi lost me at "Oww my back" and Venom was the least of the scandalous missteps in Spidey 3.  Gwen Stacey showing up two films late, and pinning Ben's death on Sandman trump Topher Venom and Emo Parker takes the crown prize for "element closest in lameness to bat-nipples".

Raimi needs to go back to doing the quirky, low budget stuff that he's best at and leave Spiderman to a more capable and well read director.  Retool, rewrite, and reboot.

As for Singer on X Men, I have  to agree with Wiseguy and Littlemikey.  Why oh, why would they let Singer anywhere near another X Men film.  I want to see a reboot with Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast and Angel.  Introduce Wolverine organically rather than shoehorning him into the first film.

monkeyfoot 12/17/2009 2:54:34 PM

I love Raimi's work on Spider-man despite the studio interference on SM3. I truly hope he gets his way.

As for Singer: I know alot of fans have ideas or ways of doing the X-men that might be different than the way Singer set it up for the movies.I have enjoyed them but I know I would have done some things different if I was in charge. But X3 was the most profitable of all three and X2 was the most critically acclaimed. There is nothing in that equation that doesn't say use Singer again as director since he's available and continue the films in the setup they've been.

ponyboy76 12/17/2009 3:01:40 PM

Vulture? Really? Hey, I am a Raimi fan, apart from his casting Dunst as MJ, and how SM3 went down, but Vulture is kind of a lame character these days.I mean I don't think the way to go is modern either because you'll end up with something horrible like the Clone Saga or Carnage, but they really should think about doing The Lizard and Kraven the Hunter.

savagelee 12/17/2009 3:56:08 PM

Hey, Mr. Avatar - if you're gonna capslock, you shouldn't hit shift when you do the first letter in your sentance, as you wind up with a weird text pattern that discourages people from reading what you have to say. Rather, try to formulate well-paced sentance with tight, edited phrases embedded within them.

Oh, and I think the studio executives admitted that interest in the film was significantly higher after the test-copy was released. This isn't a conspiracy, this is something Fox saw and publically acknowledged.

"just because you stoled it." Seriously man, that's what I come on-line to read. Pure gold. Tell me more about your well-concieved social-poltitical theories, young man....
