While at the Sundance Film Festival, CINESCAPE correspondent Paul Zimmerman ran into X-MEN director Bryan Singer, who chatted a bit about X2.
"I have some friends who have shorts here and I just wanted to catch some films before heading up to Vancouver," Singer said. When asked by someone in the indie film crowd why he's headed up north, the director informed him/her about his latest gig.
"The first one made money so we're doing another. That's how they tell me it works," Singer joked. When asked what he plans on blowing up in X2, Singer replied, "We're rebuilding all the sets in Vancouver from [when we shot in] Toronto and then blowing them up!"
Does this mean sets from the original film (think Professor X's mutant school) are in for a rough ride in the sequel. Stay tuned.
