Personally I like.  It has been seen but I echo it any way, it a Shirley Bassey feel.  Certainlt better than when Tom Jones tried to capture that.  death, I've done the marathon thing as well.  Sheryl Crow's & Shirley Manson's songs for Tomorrow Never Dies & The World Is Not Enough I've enjoyed a lot.  One of my favorites was the theme for OHMSS.  And Live & Let Die was the best theme for the Roge Moore era, with a close second to Nobody Does It Better.I would take this them over any from the latter Moore/Dalton Era.

death4sale, not sure who you have been talking to, but all of my friends loved Casino Royale's song immediately.  I actually went home right after the movie and downloaded that night.  Loved that song from the git go.  I think most did, but maybe you run around with a different group than I.

As for watching all the filmd in a row, DANG, you have some serious balls to do that.  Not sure if I could concentrate that long on anything.  I did spend the year watching every single Bond movie ever made.  The good and the bad.  And yes there are bad Bond films.  Noen made by Eon Productions.  And even though I enjoyed Never say never again quite a bit, The second Casino Royale with Niven is just horrible beyond words.  And not sure if you even can count The first Casino Royale as a James Bond film, as he was Jimmy then and American, but it wasn't too great either.  If you haven't seen them then I guess its worth it just to say you've seen it all, but I warn you they are hard to get through, especially Niven's Bond.

I have seen them dude and yeah, they are horrible. What's pretty awful is that David Niven was one of Ian Fleming's first choices to play Bond. As was Christopher Lee. He also considered Lee for the Dr. No role. Luckily, Fleming's wife was a fan of Connery because of Darby O' Gill and the Little People. I think Octopussy ranks for me as one of the worst Bond movies. I'm not particularly fond of Diamonds are Forever either.

Yeah, I'm on several different forums, have been for years and used to run into a lot of haters of Cornell's song. I loved it immediately myself as I'm a big Cornell and Soundgarden fan.

I'm sorry you sufefred through that.  Yea Octopussy is like a comedy.  If I look at it that way I enjoy it more.  Loev every official movie though.  Even a bad bond film is a good movie, well except for the first two CR.  They are just sad sad wastes of time.

So, death4sale, you like James Bond?

InnerSanctum 10/5/2012 9:31:12 PM

I'm on record as saying Roger Moore was my least favorite Bond.  Most of his films were just eye rolling silly.  Trying to pick out the worst of his outings is difficult.  Bond...dressed like a clown.  Sad.

That said, I can actually say I shared a martini with James Bond.  Lazenby...George Lazenby.  It was a very cool moment.

I like Daniel I just don't like him AS Bond. he may be a fine MI6 agent but Bond is way smoother, more sophisiticated, not as ruff around the edges. Bond is Cool and Polished. Craig as bond is just a Thug. not anything like Conery or Brosnan. wife is asleep so I'll listen to the song tomorrow.

I've only met one Bond and that was Sir Roger Moore. He did a book signing in Los Angeles when he released his autobiography (it's a good read). I got to shake the man's hand and got my book signed. While I am not a fan of many of his flicks, I do respect the man. Hell, he's the only actor to play Bond who actually held the weapons correctly according to military standards since he himself was a Captain in the Royal Army. While I'm not overly fond of a few of his movies, he did star in one of my Top 3 favorite Bond films The Spy Who Loved Me. I also thought he was good in For Your Eyes Only and The Man With the Golden Gun. While Lazenby was one of the most convincing actors in the action scenes (since he was a student of Bruce Lee), he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. That's why the death of Diana Rigg in that film doesn't feel as emotionally powerful as it could have been for me.

Actually trollman, Craig's portrayal of Bond as a thug comes closer to the way Ian Fleming had envisioned the character. The first time they tried the serious approach to Bond was with Dalton and Fleming was most proud of Dalton's portrayal. I'm fairly certain if he was alive, Daniel Craig's version would be the ideal version that Fleming had initially envisioned. From the looks of the Skyfall trailer, he's developing into the smoother sophisticated Bond but he still has a raw quality to him that makes him dangerous.
